The Reading Hour – National Year of Reading

One of the big events for National Year of Reading 2012 is the Reading Hour to take place on Saturday 25th August between 6.00-7.00pm. Families are encouraged to take some time out (or another hour in the week if this is inconvenient for your family) to sit down together and share some reading time. This could be books, magazines, newspapers, poetry – whatever it is that your family loves!

“Our aim will be to establish the idea that everyone will benefit from reading for at least an hour a week and we will ask our National Year of Reading ambassadors to act as high profile role models.”
